At Springs Fabrication, Inc., Safety First is not a slogan, it’s our culture. Providing employees with the tools they need to do their job safely, on specification, on budget, and on-time is the cornerstone of our commitment to our customers. Since 2008, Springs Fabrication has employed a full time safety manager and we have invested substantially in safety equipment and safety training to continually reinforce Safety as part of our culture.
Employee training is an important element of our safety program. We begin training from the first day of employment with a comprehensive orientation program to ensure new hires have the information they need to succeed.
Our safety training includes:
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Crane operation
- Rigging inspection
- Electrical cords, air hoses, and gas bottle safety
- Confined space
- Fall protection
- Hazard communications
- Emergency action plan and visitor policy
- Instructions for injuries on the job
In an effort to keep employees safe, company issued permits are required before an employee can:
- Operate a forklift
- Operate a crane
- Drive a company vehicle
- Enter a confined space
Our list of safety requirements are specific to our organization and follow OSHA Standards for General Industry. We abide by the fire codes set by the local fire department and we are in compliance with applicable Hazmat Standards.
As part of our commitment to compliance, Springs Fabrication participates in the Voluntary Compliance Program with OSHA to fulfill our goal to become part of OSHA`S Safety and Health Achievement Recognition program (SHARP). To remain in compliance, we conduct regular safety audits which are also part of our 5S Lean Manufacturing program.
Springs Fabrication is concerned about the environment and maintains air and storm water permits. As a Silver member of the Environmental Leadership Program, we are in good standings with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
