SUMMARY: This position will be responsible for providing the manufacturing expertise within a group that collaboratively defines the safest, most efficient way to manufacture products, and delivers a well defined, achievable plan and schedule to meet the committed due date.   • Interfaces with Project Managers, Design Engineers, Manufacturing Team Leaders, and production workers to define the best methods to manufacture product.
  • Utilize Syspro to fully communicate expectations, processes and procedures for all jobs released to the production floor through Planning.
  • Coordinates the generation and revision of build plans, fixtures, supplemental drawings and other documentation as necessary to completely and clearly communicate the manufacturing sequence and process flow to the shop floor.
  • Works closely with manufacturing team leaders, Project Managers and other functional area Leadership to ensure that jobs are released to the floor in a way that enables efficient and timely completion.
  • Establish standards for processing, fabrication and machining operations that can be used by the entire SFI organization.
  • Develop and implement statistical methods for validating and monitoring process and equipment performance. This could include (but not limited to) things such as scheduling, documenting and analyzing Circle-Diamond-Square programs for the machine shop, daily kerf and dimensional calibration programs for plate processing equipment, or documenting, analyzing and suggesting improvements to a plate rolling process.
  • Collaborates on the most efficient and timely processes required to estimate the manufacturing cost of new business opportunities.
  • Collaborates with Management, Team Leaders, and Facilities/Maintenance on plant equipment layouts and machines, equipment or tooling as required.
  • Drives continuous improvement throughout the organization through the proposal, planning and execution of continuous improvement projects throughout the year.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • A thorough understanding of materials processing, welding, fabrication and machining processes is critical.
  • Hands-on experience with fabricating, welding and machining products requiring CNC mill and lathe operations is highly desired.
  • A two-year or four year certificate or diploma from a college or technical school in the field of Manufacturing/Engineering and five years of related experience and/or training is desired; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

The fundamental knowledge and skills associated with all manufacturing processes are critical, including the ability to generate, read, and interpret complex drawings and blueprints.

Good computer knowledge and familiarity with standard desktop software including MS Office is required, as well as the ability to learn ERP system, SYSPRO.

A Level 2 position that is responsible to layout and fabricate complex metal products with little or no supervision. Familiar and proficient at welding in accordance with ASME Section IX welding procedures using carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials.

  • Must be able to work in confined spaces with limited access and heights.

Springs Fabrication is seeking a CNC Programmer to plan and program moderate to complex CNC jobs for our Machine Shop. This position requires flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work across multiple areas in the shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generates, updates, and revises CAD drawings or Solid Models for effective transference to a CNC program.
  • Generates, updates, and revises CNC programs from various software packages to nest patterns and cut various materials to specific dimensions.
  • Maintain program history for production jobs.
  • Helps maintain tooling lists of available tooling for cutting and forming materials.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineers/Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers to work through any issues identified, and to reduce material waste.
  • Coordinates the generation and revision of programs, tool lists, cut lists, and job set-up sheets for Processing operations as part of the Job Confirmation process.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

One must fully understand the process of cutting and forming various metals using press brakes, rollers, plasma, laser, torches, machining heads, and punches. Programs written must efficiently make parts to print. Prior work history or knowledge of programming with Sigma Nest and Sigma Tube software is strongly desired. The ability to operate and/or manually program on any of the above mentioned machines would be beneficial.

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing, monitoring and ensuring the integrity and timeliness of project schedules.   • Works with production management team to develop budgets, and resource load schedule activities. Ability to produce labor projections, graphs, and reports.
  • Maintain multiple project schedules. Solicit and provide input weekly progress updates.
  • Produce schedules and schedule reports as required for both internal management and reporting to external customers.
  • Incorporate scope changes and other changes to project schedules, analyze, record and report impacts.
  • Works with internal and external resources to resolve conflicts, problems, and coordinate schedules.
  • Ensures that an open communication system is available where all stakeholders are informed of any changes to the schedule
  • Performs timely and accurate processing of schedule updates
  • Monitor production process, workflow, and schedules to ensure on-time delivery
  • Identify and report work capacity constraints
  • Perform weekly schedule updates

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required.
  • AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 (years) years of increasing responsibility in a schedule creation, management capacity.
  • Experience and familiarity with budgeting, estimating, and planning/scheduling principles is a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of data processing systems such as ERP/MRP. Experience with Global Shop (ERP) is a plus.
  • Experience and understanding of NQA-1 and other quality program certification requirements is a plus

  • Ensure accuracy of capturing applied labor in shop clock for all their team members.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in business, Engineering, or related degree, or Associates degree with related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean methodology and Continuous Improvement concepts and tools.
  • 10 years experience in a project-based fabrication environment with proven ability to read detail drawings, build specifications, and quality requirements and translate into manufacturing plans.
  • Experience with fabrication processes and equipment, including lifting/rigging large equipment, welding, machining, cutting, forming, processing. Stainless steel fabrication experience highly desirable.
  • This position requires an ongoing commitment to improving his/her supervisory skills through internal or external training of at least 20 hours of classes or seminars each review period.

Inspects products at various stages of the production process that are received, machined and/or fabricated. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a lead position. In addition to providing hands-on support of the documentation control function, the incumbent will also coordinate the activities of additional staff.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required. An AS or BS are preferred, or College level courses or technical training in business/office discipline.
  • 5 years of document management or document control experience is required at the Document Control Specialist II, or equivalent.
  • A proficient knowledge of computers, databases, and office disciplines is required.
  • A knowledge/background of Quality Systems (e.g., ISO9001) and systems audits is preferred.
  • Formal Lean Manufacturing training is desirable.
