Human Resources Director - Colorado Springs, CO



The Human Resources Director will be an essential member of Machine Build Technologies' senior management staff and lead the HR department to ensure our company's practices and policies are within the best interest of our employees and both sister companies - Springs Fabrication, LLC and Springs ATG, LLC.

Previous working knowledge and experience in a manufacturing environment is crucial in day-today functions and strategic planning. This is a hands-on leadership role.

The ideal candidate should also possess high work ethic, excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as strong knowledge with labor regulations and HR practices. Knowledge of Colorado labor laws is highly preferred.


Ensures that all human resource functions support strategic objectives and comply with applicable regulations and generally accepted standards of sound personnel management practices. Develops, maintains, and administers all human resource functions, e.g. staffing, compensation and benefits, employee relations, training and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Implements human resources strategies by establishing department accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, employment processing, compensation, records management, succession planning, and employee relations.
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains Employee Policy Manual.
  •  Supports management by providing human resources advise, counsel, and decisions, analyzing information and applications.
  •  Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed implementation.
  •  Performs benefits administration (health/dental insurance, 401K Plan, etc.) to include annual assessment/marketing for renewal, track employee eligibility & new enrollments, monitor billings, claim resolution, and communicating benefit information to employees. Develop and administer employee incentive/recognition programs.
  •  Develops and maintains affirmative action program; maintains records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  •  Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel and temporary employees; conducts new-employee orientations; writes and places advertisements.
  •  Conducts and analyzes needs assessments and specifies behavioral objectives to use in training programs. Evaluates personal development training programs and makes appropriate changes to ensure a continuous learning organization.
  •  Maintains human resource information system, including the maintenance of employee records, the timely conduct of performance appraisals by supervisors, statistical information on employment trends (i.e. turnover) and vacation schedules.
  •  Monitors unemployment claims and assists departments with appeals.
  •  Assists in monitoring Worker’s Compensation Insurance claims and coordinates work between employee and Insurance Company.
  •  Maintains company organization charts and employee directory


Supervises a small group of professionals in HR administration both exempt and non-exempt.

A Bachelor’s Degree and at least (10) years of Human Resource management experience or combination of education and experience. A background in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is key.


Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification preferred.


Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to use these skills in the following areas of communication: interpersonal, group and organizational. Conflict resolution skills, decision-making skills, leadership skills, team building skills, and the ability to use and teach these skills under various situations. Investigative skills and the ability to diagnose, analyze, and recommend solutions to solve organizational problems. Presentation and instructional skills focusing on adult learning theories. Ability to use software such as Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
