SUMMARY:

Welds and fabricates a variety of engineered metal products, ranging from structural to piping to vessel work.

2nd shift highly preferred! Comes with 10% pay differential.

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and GTAW processes
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 5 or more years of welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex
  • weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat induced warpage
  • Experience with various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys

Welders will be required to take the following tests: Shop Math Test, Weld Symbology Test, as well the following weld test:

  • 6G GMAW Downhill and FCAW Uphill
  • 6G GTAW

Position Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $20.00 - $30.00/hour, depending on experience

Material Handler - Colorado Springs, CO

Description

SUMMARY:

Greet delivery trucks upon entry into our facility. Verify quantity and type of materials received per line item on the packing slip. Compare receipted materials against open purchase orders. Mark materials for identification and then safely move them to the appropriate area based upon current procedures. Pick materials that are in-stock to satisfy job requirements, mark accordingly, then move to staging area. Bring materials to the processing lines per direction from Department Leads.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Support the vision of the company.
  • Maintain accountability in material segregation, surface quality, and storage by type of metal
  • Perform physical inventories on a recurring basis when directed.
  • Properly identify material and maintain traceability to heat numbers.
  • Effectively communicate between departments to coordinate material movement and staging.
  • Maintain flexibility to meet the demands of production and many other internal customers.
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives and activities.
  • The safe operation of a forklift and moving heavy, bulky materials is a high priority.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Keeping all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.
  • Verify materials to the SF database.
  • Assist in Kitting Jobs in the cage as parts are received.
  • Monitor inventory levels on Kanban inventory and report the counts to department Manager.
  • Conveying purchasing requirements and keeping data on the availability of products in short supply.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Two years of experience preferred as a Material Handler, Warehouse Associate, or similar position.  Experience in using warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be certified in forklift operation per Springs Fabrication standards, within 30 days of accepting this position.

 

SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to safely move material throughout the plant site utilizing powered industrial trucks, hand carts, dollies, and cranes. Must be able to read and interpret material types. Must be able to pass our Shop Math, Material Handler assessment.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

 The employee is outside for large portions of the day and may be exposed to cold and hot temperatures as well as rain and snow.

SUMMARY

Generates quotations based on estimates of labor, materials, special processes, and documentation requirements for a varying range of complex technical opportunities by reviewing the scope of work, codes, specifications, drawings, and other relevant requirements. Communicates with customers, internal resources, vendors, and subcontractors to research, determine and estimate the cost to manufacture the opportunity within the defined parameters and prescribed time frames. Achieves defined order booking goals through converting offered quotations into purchase orders.


 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages customer expectations through communication of capabilities, capacities, lead times and follow up on offered quotations.
  • Reviews and comprehends scope of work (SOW), customer requirements, specifications, codes and standards, customer terms and conditions to identify required resources to satisfy the project requirements.
  • Distills SOW data to prepare and estimate preliminary manufacturing routings consisting of labor operations, material requirements, subcontracted services and all other cost associated with the SOW.
  • Identifies and accounts for poorly defined requirements and high-risk activities and processes.
  • Communicates with customer to obtain clarification of all missing or unclear requirements.
  • Acquires and applies costs of materials and subcontracted operations through direct contact with vendors or communicating pricing support needs to internal resources.
  • Confers with internal supporting resources (manufacturing, procurement, scheduling, quality control programming and engineering) to determine and review the project requirements.
  • Generates detailed estimates of cost for the labor, materials, special processes, testing, inspection, and documentation requirements needed to perform the SOW.
  • Prepares detailed quotation documentation for submittal to the customer. Describes in detail the inclusions, substitutions, and exclusions of the offer.
  • Prepares and submits the requisite documentation, responses and proposals prescribed in the quotation submittal requirements.
  • Performs follow up activities to gain status of offered quotations to determine probability of converting the quote into a purchase order.
  • Reviews awarded purchase orders against quotations to verify that offered schedule commitments, funding parameters, scope of work and exceptions taken match.
  • Communicates with assigned Project Manager and participates in project kick-off meetings to communicate quoted SOW, initial planning and all other pertinent data of the project previously determined.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Individual shall have some knowledge of metal manufacturing methods including but not limited to raw material processing, welding, machining, finishing and assembly processes.

Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university or 1 to 3 years of metal manufacturing experience.

SUMMARY

Develop and implement comprehensive sales plan in conjunction with the company strategic objectives including but not limited to; increasing quote opportunities and bookings from current customer base, developing new customers and seeking opportunities in underserved markets.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

·        Support the vision of the company through development and implementation of an effective sales plan.

·        Learn and maintain a clear understanding of company’s core competencies and future product development goals.

·        Work in conjunction Estimators, Project Management, Engineering, Plant Management and Quality to remain current on capabilities and capacities.

·        Develop specialized strategies and marketing materials to increase customer base and quote conversion percentage. 

·        Expand known customer base through the nurturing of current customers and reactivating former customers.

·        Establish new customers through professional networking, participation in trade organization events and cold contacting. 

·        Establish bookings/sales projections and provide regular progress updates to management.

·        Review and evaluate opportunities, assist in the preparation of proposals and submittals.

·        Generate and publish weekly business development summary detailing key weekly activities, projected travel and trade show participation and status of long-range opportunities.

·        Identify, record and update customer contacts and status of active quotes.

·        Develop and manage outside sales staff through direct oversight and product knowledge training. 

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in a technical field; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Business development experience with complex fabricated products in the mining, aerospace, oil and gas, wind energy, DOE/DOD and/or general industry is crucial.

Pay range: $110,000-$140,000 annually, DOE
