CNC Machinist II / III - Colorado Springs, CO

SUMMARY:

Sets-up and operates CNC and manual machinery in accordance to Safety Practices, Operational Manuals and direct input from his/her Team Lead. Runs simple to complex programs on CNC machines and observes the operation of the equipment to ensure the accuracy of the part to the Customer’s drawing. Manually checks machine function by using measuring devices to ensure work output is within acceptable limits. Brings technical issues to the attention of his/her Team Lead.

Requirements include:

  • Experience with manual machines, CNC machines, conversational programming and CNC coding
  • Must have a positive attitude, be a team player and be project oriented
  • Must be self-sufficient and be a leader/mentor to others

THESE QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES MUST HAVE THE BASIC FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ASSOCIATED WITH MACHINING AND POSSES THE ABILITY TO GENERATE, READ AND INTERPRET DRAWINGS.

  • Good knowledge of the process of machining.
  • Prior work history or knowledge of machining and programming.
  • Able to read and understand complex machining blueprints.
  • Able to write simple machining programs on several different controllers.
  • Sets-up and runs machining operations on the Haas Lathe, Feeler, G&L, Femco, Haas Vertical Mills and Femco HBC.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls and offsets
  • Inspects parts during run and after completion to ensure parts are accurate.
  • Processes all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe working area.

Welder / Fabricator III - Colorado Springs, CO

SUMMARY:

Welds and fabricates a variety of engineered metal products, ranging from structural to piping to vessel work.


Must meet the following requirements:

  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and GTAW processes
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 5 or more years of welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex
  • weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat induced warpage
  • Experience with various metals, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and nickel alloys

Welders will be required to take the following tests: Shop Math Test, Weld Symbology Test, as well the following weld test:

  • 6G GMAW Downhill and FCAW Uphill
  • 6G GTAW

Mechanical Design Engineer- Colorado Springs, CO

Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Researches and retrieves information for department members
  • Keeps abreast of current design practices and procedures
  • Performs shop and field data collection
  • Interfaces with Design Engineers and project managers to maintain current and best programming/machining practices
  • Participates in project reviews to obtain special manufacturing requirements
  • Updates, revises and produces programs, tool lists and job set-up sheets for machine shop.
  • Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, project managers and other machine programmers to ensure that programs are made to run as smooth and efficiently as possible.
  • Researches the feasibility and capability of various projects
  • Provides technical solutions and recommendations to assist production and assembly
  • Develops plans for assembly, machine, tooling and fixture design
  • Prepares mechanical calculations for design requirements
  • Prepares fluid mechanics and fluid dynamics calculations for design requirements
  • Interprets customer specification, codes and calculations
  • Produces detailed drawing per company standards
  • Updates, devises and reproduces drawings
  • Produces detailed technical submittal documents in support of assigned projects
  • Interfaces with production to maintain current and best fabrication practices
  • Researches, specifies, recommends and commissions manufacturing equipment

Bachelor’s Degree (BS) or equivalent; and a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Design Engineer. Strong Project Engineer and manufacturing background desired.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

The ability to generate, read and interpret drawings. One must have the fundamental knowledge and skills associated with drafting /detailing including third-angle projection, section views, auxiliary views, general dimensioning and notation. General knowledge of fabrication processes and welding is desired. One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with standard desktop software in addition to PRO/E, AutoCAD or other drafting/modeling software.

Painter II / Blaster

SUMMARY:

To apply a wide range of industrial liquid coatings to manufactured products in accordance to the specification of the OEM and Customer. The coatings may include one-, two- and three-coat procedures. Sandblasts, grinds, scrapes and/or sands metal surfaces to groove, bevel, round, straighten edges, remove excess material, improve cosmetics, etc. as specified by drawings, job orders, or guidelines. The position requires a thorough knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Applying a wide range of industrial coatings to fabricated metal products.
  • Familiar with the use of instrumentation to measure painting parameters to ensure compliance to OEM specifications.
  • Certified to apply industrial coatings in confined spaces.
  • Certified to properly rig large objects for the purpose of moving them in the process of applying the industrial coatings.
  • Inserts selected blast media into blast pot and performs work.
  • Recommend tools and equipment to improve the operation of the department.
  • Practice good safety habits and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Follow all OSHA and HazMat Procedures applicable to the storage and handling of materials in the area.
  • Report malfunctions of equipment or processing to supervisor.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

At times direct the activities of a small group of individuals responsible for painting and finishing metal products.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must be certified in forklift operation per Springs Fabrication standards, within 30 days of accepting this position. Must be certified in rigging operation per Springs Fabrication Standards, within 30 days of accepting this position. Must be able to qualify to use a full-face respirator through a qualification process as identified by OSHA and internal Springs Fabrication procedures.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Knowledge of and proficiency at using a variety of hand tools and equipment. Familiar with most common materials of construction. Must be able to work at heights in a manlift or on a ladder, i.e. greater than 20 feet. Must be able to operate, with training, various types of standard rental equipment.

Pay Range: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour, DOE
