SUMMARY:
Oversee and manage all machining operations, ensuring efficient production, high-quality workmanship, and adherence to safety standards. This role requires a strong technical background in CNC machining processes, blueprint reading, and CNC programming, combined with proven leadership and problem-solving abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all machining processes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to the machine shop team, addressing technical challenges and promoting best practices.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute machining projects effectively.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies, fostering a safe working environment.
- Manage and mentor the machine shop team, providing training, development opportunities, and performance feedback.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and quality control, to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of production output, material usage, and quality metrics.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machining technologies and techniques.
- Effectively communicate project updates, challenges, and solutions to management.
- Proactively identify and resolve production-related problems, minimizing disruptions and delays.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree from two-year college or technical school preferred, a high school diploma or GED is required; one to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. The individual must have strong leadership skills with a minimum of three years of supervisory or related experience. This position requires an ongoing commitment to improving his/her supervisory skills through internal or external training as assigned.
