SUMMARY

A Level 2 position that is responsible to layout and fabricate complex metal products with little or no supervision. Familiar and proficient at welding in accordance with ASME Section IX welding procedures using carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Understands fully Springs Fabrication’s Policy Statement, commitment to ISO, NQA1 and Safety.
  • Able to read and understand complex blueprints for layout and weld tack.
  • Understands fully Springs ATG’s NQA1 Program, material heat number tracing and weld maps.
  • Able to perform x-ray quality welds on products fabricated of stainless steel, carbon steel and specialty alloys by using certified processes, i.e., FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW etc.
  • Capable of completing weldments with consideration of tolerances, shrinkage, warpage.
  • Thoroughly understands and can complete required documentation for welding and fabrication performed.

  • Must supply your own basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces with limited access and heights.

Springs Fabrication is seeking a CNC Programmer to plan and program moderate to complex CNC jobs for our Machine Shop. This position requires flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work across multiple areas in the shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generates, updates, and revises CAD drawings or Solid Models for effective transference to a CNC program.
  • Generates, updates, and revises CNC programs from various software packages to nest patterns and cut various materials to specific dimensions.
  • Maintain program history for production jobs.
  • Helps maintain tooling lists of available tooling for cutting and forming materials.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineers/Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers to work through any issues identified, and to reduce material waste.
  • Coordinates the generation and revision of programs, tool lists, cut lists, and job set-up sheets for Processing operations as part of the Job Confirmation process.
  • Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, Project Managers and other machine programmers to ensure that jobs are released to the floor in a way that ensures smooth and efficiently use of labor and materials.
  • Coordinates the archiving of machine specific information, such as program files, DXF/STEP/IGES files, tooling, and machine process flows as required.

Level I - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret basic drawings and blueprints
  • The ability to edit and create CNC programs and cut lists with minimal assistance.
  • The ability to complete routine forms, both hard copy and electronic.

Level II - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret intermediate drawings and blueprint packages
  • The ability to independently generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs.
  • The ability to process complete job packages through planning and programming with minimal direction, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
  • The ability to edit basic Structures and Routing changes in SYSPRO.

Level III - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret complex drawing and blueprint packages.
  • The ability to independently evaluate requirements for complex jobs and generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs for all Processing machines.
  • The ability to independently process complete, complex job packages through planning and programming, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
  • The ability to create and edit SYSPRO Structures and Routings.
  • The ability to utilize CAD software to edit, draw, and design complex parts for programming.
  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Two-year certificate from a college or technical school in the field of computer-aided design and drafting with the above defined related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One must fully understand the process of cutting and forming various metals using press brakes, rollers, plasma, laser, torches, machining heads, and punches. Programs written must efficiently make parts to print. Prior work history or knowledge of programming with Sigma Nest and Sigma Tube software is strongly desired. The ability to operate and/or manually program on any of the above mentioned machines would be beneficial.


SKILLS and ABILITIES

The ability to generate, read, and interpret complex drawings. One must have the fundamental knowledge and skills associated with cutting and forming metal. General knowledge of fabrication processes and welding is desired.  One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with CNC programming software and standard desktop software. One must be able to create drawings using blueprints to program from, create programs using DXF/STEP/IGES files and solid models, and know how to select the proper cutting method and tools for the part and/or material to be cut.

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for effective management of department personnel as well as establishing, maintaining, and ensuring the overall effective implementation of the company’s nuclear Quality Assurance Program and ASME Code Compliance QA Program for the “U” and “R” stamps. The QAM also oversees application of the Quality Assurance Program on a graded basis to projects that do not comply with NQA-1. This requires the ability to:

·        Establish, define, and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, systems, and programs to efficiently and effectively support quoting, design and manufacturing activities

·        Participate in and contribute to developing annual strategic plans as well as develop action plans to accomplish initiatives

·        Evaluate the effectiveness of existing quality procedures, systems, and programs, and make necessary modifications to eliminate waste and redundancies and to drive efficiencies

·        Identify the need for corrective action and plan, execute, and/or ensure corrective actions and non-conformance are resolved effectively

·        Evaluate contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure QA Program compliance

·        Estimate, budget, and plan for quality activities by project

·        Evaluate and monitor quality assurance capabilities of suppliers

·        Review procurement documentation and establish quality flow-down requirements

·        Ensure that all project quality documentation requirements are met in proactive manner

·        Coordinate, conduct, and/or participate in internal, external, and customer audits

Manages the Quality Department at the Westminster location in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Provides direction to Quality group including engineers, inspectors, and documentation control staff.

SUMMARY

Inspects products at various stages of the production process that are received, machined and/or fabricated. Capable of the following when certified: welding inspections, dimensional inspections, surface finish inspections, and interpreting the results of the inspections against the requirements of applicable specifications or codes. Certified as an AWS CWI or ACCP Level II Visual Inspector.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Performs visual inspection of welds on fabricated product per the requirements of an AWS CWI or ACCP Level II.

·        When certified, performs dimensional and surface finish inspections.

·        When certified, performs Nondestructive Testing.

·        Operates inspection equipment and interprets results to code and specification requirements.

·        Responsible for coordinating inspection requirements, scheduling, and associated documentation and records.

·        Evaluates data and writes reports to document results to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

·        Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

·        A proficient understanding of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

·        Inspects materials received, work in process and finished products using conventional inspection instruments to ensure conformance with work orders, blueprints and engineering drawings.

·        Must maintain inspection process and documentation in compliance with the Quality System requirements.

·        May be trained as a Quality System auditor.

  • Overall management responsibility for the accounting department ensuring high quality business activities with maximum efficiency, personnel engagement, customer and supplier service, and profitability.
  • Oversight of accounting personnel including staffing requirements, recruitment, training, set action and targets, appraise, and manage performance, delegation, development, coaching and general support of all personnel, both supervisory and team members, to ensure targets are met.
  • Comprehensive understanding of GAAP accounting including development of Profit Loss Statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flows, Costing (by operation or machine center) and Percent Complete Accounting for large projects. Generates timely financial reports for management and external parties.
  • Set an example for both supervisory and team members of commitment, accounting and manufacturing process expertise, work ethic and habits and personal character. 
  • In coordination with MBT, maintain and champion agreed upon standards for accurate records and the use of all financial systems and software including the dissemination of these standards to all personnel.  
  • Primary lead in the development of procedures and utilization of the accounting and costing modules for the company’s ERP software system to provide proper records, controls, and services.
  • Engages with external CPA firms to generate audits and financial reviews and tax reporting including the preparation of supporting documents and reconciliation
  • Analyzes, consolidates, and directs all cost accounting procedures and other statistical and routine reports.
  • Establishes and maintains contacts with outside accounting group, lending institutions, insurance agents, and attorney consultants.

  • Working knowledge of tolerance stack analysis, fit check analysis, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5, and ability to generate detailed 2D part and assembly drawings for manufacturing. ability to evaluate and apply them to precision mechanical designs. its effects on the manufacturability and inspection of the parts.
  • Creating and modifying assembly drawings, schematics, vendor item control drawings, connection diagrams and bills of materials for complex electro-mechanical equipment.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude that allows understanding of machines and quickly translating this understanding into streamlined mechanical designs that employ Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Define piping and valve specifications on the Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID).
  • Performs engineering computations and analyses related to machine design, strengths of materials, hydraulic circuits, dynamics, heat transfer, power, etc.
  • Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, project managers and other machine programmers to ensure that programs are made to run as smooth and efficiently as possible.

Level II - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to independently process complete, complex job packages through planning and programming, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
  • Develops plans for assembly, machine, tooling, and fixture design
  • Prepares mechanical calculations using Math CAD, FEA or equal for design requirements
  • Produces detailed technical submittal documents in support of assigned projects
  • Create and perform ME for product design, including checking review/approve detailed piece part drawings with tolerance and mechanical/thermal studies.
  • Prepare load test plans, rigging plans of fabricated assemblies.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related experience.
