SUMMARY

A Level 2 position that is responsible to layout and fabricate complex metal products with little or no supervision. Familiar and proficient at welding in accordance with ASME Section IX welding procedures using carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy materials. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Understands fully Springs Fabrication’s Policy Statement, commitment to ISO, NQA1 and Safety.
  • Able to read and understand complex blueprints for layout and weld tack.
  • Understands fully Springs ATG’s NQA1 Program, material heat number tracing and weld maps.
  • Able to perform x-ray quality welds on products fabricated of stainless steel, carbon steel and specialty alloys by using certified processes, i.e., FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW etc.
  • Capable of completing weldments with consideration of tolerances, shrinkage, warpage.
  • Thoroughly understands and can complete required documentation for welding and fabrication performed.
  • Proficient at using all shop tools and machinery. (Bandsaw, drill press, plasma cutter, roll former, etc.)
  • Must supply your own basic hand tools.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces with limited access and heights.
  • Ability to perform various assembly tasks.
  • Works with limited supervision.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May at times give direction to Welder’s Helpers and Welders and monitors their work performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma, GED or equivalent. 
  • 3-8 years of related experience in stainless steel fabrication, technical training or equivalent.

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Able to anticipate complex fabrication problems such as shrinkage, warping, tolerance build-up, etc. and take corrective action prior to welding.

Must be able to pass all certifications set forth and be proficient for minimum of 1 month

  • Forklift Certification

Description

Springs Fabrication is seeking a CNC Programmer to plan and program moderate to complex CNC jobs for our Machine Shop. This position requires flexibility in schedule and a willingness to work across multiple areas in the shop.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Generates, updates, and revises CAD drawings or Solid Models for effective transference to a CNC program.
  • Generates, updates, and revises CNC programs from various software packages to nest patterns and cut various materials to specific dimensions.
  • Maintain program history for production jobs.
  • Helps maintain tooling lists of available tooling for cutting and forming materials.
  • Interfaces with Design Engineers/Manufacturing Engineers and Project Managers to work through any issues identified, and to reduce material waste.
  • Coordinates the generation and revision of programs, tool lists, cut lists, and job set-up sheets for Processing operations as part of the Job Confirmation process.
  • Work closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, Project Managers and other machine programmers to ensure that jobs are released to the floor in a way that ensures smooth and efficiently use of labor and materials.
  • Coordinates the archiving of machine specific information, such as program files, DXF/STEP/IGES files, tooling, and machine process flows as required.

Level I - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret basic drawings and blueprints
  • The ability to edit and create CNC programs and cut lists with minimal assistance.
  • The ability to complete routine forms, both hard copy and electronic.

Level II - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret intermediate drawings and blueprint packages
  • The ability to independently generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs.
  • The ability to process complete job packages through planning and programming with minimal direction, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
  • The ability to edit basic Structures and Routing changes in SYSPRO.
  • The ability to complete and generate hard copy and electronic forms.
  • The ability to utilize CAD software to edit and draw basic parts for programming when no representative drawing is available.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related experience.

Level III - Specific Requirements

  • The ability to read and interpret complex drawing and blueprint packages.
  • The ability to independently evaluate requirements for complex jobs and generate CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs for all Processing machines.
  • The ability to independently process complete, complex job packages through planning and programming, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
  • The ability to create and edit SYSPRO Structures and Routings.
  • The ability to utilize CAD software to edit, draw, and design complex parts for programming.
  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Two-year certificate from a college or technical school in the field of computer-aided design and drafting with the above defined related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One must fully understand the process of cutting and forming various metals using press brakes, rollers, plasma, laser, torches, machining heads, and punches. Programs written must efficiently make parts to print. Prior work history or knowledge of programming with Sigma Nest and Sigma Tube software is strongly desired. The ability to operate and/or manually program on any of the above mentioned machines would be beneficial.


SKILLS and ABILITIES

The ability to generate, read, and interpret complex drawings. One must have the fundamental knowledge and skills associated with cutting and forming metal. General knowledge of fabrication processes and welding is desired.  One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with CNC programming software and standard desktop software. One must be able to create drawings using blueprints to program from, create programs using DXF/STEP/IGES files and solid models, and know how to select the proper cutting method and tools for the part and/or material to be cut.

SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for effective management of department personnel as well as establishing, maintaining, and ensuring the overall effective implementation of the company’s nuclear Quality Assurance Program and ASME Code Compliance QA Program for the “U” and “R” stamps. The QAM also oversees application of the Quality Assurance Program on a graded basis to projects that do not comply with NQA-1. This requires the ability to:

  • Make decisions based upon an understanding of both quality requirements/objectives and operations goals/needs
  • Evaluate and develop staff based on skillsets and capacity needed
  • Create a positive culture where the Quality Assurance group supports the organization to improve operations and better support clients
  • Communicate and interact effectively with personnel and clients at all levels on a daily basis
  • Create a collaborative relationship with other groups to drive efficiencies in project development and execution
  • Set priorities and coordinate the work of others when there are competing needs, which may entail managing difficult, complex, or time-sensitive situations.
  • Facilitate a positive, can-do attitude within the group while navigating changes in client requirements

This position includes the review, understanding, and application of codes, standards, specifications, procedures, and other documentation that define quality requirements. The QAM should have strong familiarity and understanding of all elements of a nuclear quality assurance program.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

·        Establish, define, and implement quality assurance policies, procedures, systems, and programs to efficiently and effectively support quoting, design and manufacturing activities

·        Participate in and contribute to developing annual strategic plans as well as develop action plans to accomplish initiatives

·        Evaluate the effectiveness of existing quality procedures, systems, and programs, and make necessary modifications to eliminate waste and redundancies and to drive efficiencies

·        Identify the need for corrective action and plan, execute, and/or ensure corrective actions and non-conformance are resolved effectively

·        Evaluate contracts, bids, and proposals to ensure QA Program compliance

·        Estimate, budget, and plan for quality activities by project

·        Evaluate and monitor quality assurance capabilities of suppliers

·        Review procurement documentation and establish quality flow-down requirements

·        Ensure that all project quality documentation requirements are met in proactive manner

·        Coordinate, conduct, and/or participate in internal, external, and customer audits

·        Plan and accomplish Quality Department goals, including growth and development of personnel

·        Manage capacity of the Quality Assurance and Quality Control groups versus demand, assuring adequate resources to support project load

·        Plan, complete, and maintain personnel qualification/certification requirements

·        Define and maintain company-wide personnel training requirements related to the QA Program, including conduct training sessions and administer examinations, as needed

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the Quality Department at the Westminster location in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws. Provides direction to Quality group including engineers, inspectors, and documentation control staff.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        10+ years quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years being in nuclear power, U. S. Department of Energy nuclear related activities, or nuclear materials manufacturing

·        3+ years with technical or complex programs in the areas of document control or configuration management

 

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Strong computer skills, including high proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (programming knowledge/experience preferred)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This role must communicate concisely and effectively across all levels of the organization as well as directly with customer personnel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to research, understand, interpret, and communicate quality and/or testing standards, codes, and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Ability to be certified as Lead Auditor based on the requirements of NQA-1 is preferred
  • Ability to write procedure manuals, routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to analyze statistical data and problem solve using such data

Machine Operator II

SUMMARY

Cut raw material using equipment to print requirements. Performs set-ups and operation of machinery such as saw, burn tables, 2D and 3D lasers, rolling machines and press brakes.

LEVEL II ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls and offsets.
  • Make spot checks of completed parts to ensure that machine is holding tolerances.
  • Process all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Keeps work area neat and organized to promote an image of quality and a safe environment
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
