Springs Fabrication successfully completed the design, fabrication, and delivery of two custom Effluent Tanks for a prominent National Laboratory. These tanks were engineered to API-620, the industry standard for large, welded, low-pressure storage tanks, ensuring long-term reliability and safe containment of effluent liquids.
Each tank features a capacity of approximately 11,000 gallons, with dimensions of 12 foot outside diameter and 8 foot in side shell height. Designed for high-integrity containment in a demanding laboratory environment, the tanks were constructed using 304/L stainless steel for all wetted parts, offering excellent corrosion resistance and compatibility with a range of chemical effluents.
To support the tanks structurally, carbon steel support legs were integrated into the design and finished with an industrial-grade protective paint coating to withstand harsh operational conditions and extend service life.
Springs Fabrication managed the entire production process in-house, ensuring strict quality control and adherence to regulatory standards. This comprehensive scope included:
-
Engineering and design to API-620 code
-
Material processing and structural fabrication
-
Precision welding and stainless steel handling
-
Industrial painting and coating systems
-
Rigorous quality assurance and functional testing
This project underscores Springs Fabrication’s expertise in delivering high-specification stainless steel tanks and vessels for critical infrastructure in the scientific and research sectors. Our team is proud to contribute to projects that support national security challenges by advancing breakthroughs in science and technology.
