Welder III / Fabricator III - Colorado Springs, CO

Springs Fabrication is currently looking for expert Welder/Fabricators for our Colorado Springs location.

Must meet the following requirements:
  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and/or GTAW processes. SAW is a plus
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 3 or more years of code welding experience
  • Pipe welding experience up to 20” piping and/or large structural weldments required
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex

The coatings may include one-, two- and three-coat procedures. The position requires a thorough knowledge of surface preparation to ensure proper coating adhesion. This individual will purchase materials, supplies, and services, with the objective that they will be available at the time, place, quantity, quality, and price consistent with the needs of the company.     ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

      We are searching for an experienced Estimator to generate quotations based on estimates of labor, materials, special processes and documentation requirements for a varying range of complex technical opportunities by reviewing the scope of work, codes, specifications, drawings and other relevant requirements. This qualified candidate will communicate with customers, internal resources, vendors and subcontractors to research, determine and estimate the cost to provide the opportunity within the defined parameters and prescribed time frames.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Manages customer expectations through communication of capabilities, capacities, lead times and quotation offers.
      • Reviews and comprehends scope of work (SOW) , customer requirements, specifications, codes and standards, customer terms and conditions to identify required resources to satisfy the project requirements.
      • Distills SOW data to prepare and estimate preliminary manufacturing plans consisting of labor operations, material requirements, subcontracted services and all other cost associated with the SOW.
      • Communicates with customer to obtain clarification of all poorly defined and unclear requirements.
      • Acquires and applies costs of materials and subcontracted operations through direct contact with vendors or communicating pricing support needs to internal resources.
      • Identifies and accounts for poorly defined requirements and high risk activities and processes.
      • Confers with internal supporting resources (manufacturing, procurement, scheduling, quality control programming and engineering) to determine and review the project requirements.
      • Generates detailed estimates of cost for the labor, materials, special processes, testing, inspection and documentation requirements needed to perform the SOW.

This qualified individual will be responsible for estimating all labor, material, quality and shipping costs pertaining to an RFP/RFQ that ATG receives and will respond accordingly with a formal proposal that meets technical, commercial, and profitability requirements.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
      • Read and interpret technical specifications and customer RFP and Scope of Work (SOW) requirements.
      • Utilize Microsoft Office software for estimating such as Excel and/or Word.
      • Clearly and accurately interpret descriptions of processes and intentions in in order to build an accurate and competitive estimate.
      • Read and interpret sketches and blueprints including weld symbols, GD&T and drawing material specifications.
      • Experience with welding, machining and complex assembly operations.
      • Can build a sequence of processes needed to fabricate systems.

        Personnel

        Assembly Technician, Team Lead - Colorado Springs, CO

        We are currently seeking an Assembly Technician Team Lead in Colorado Springs. This is a working position, that will require prior experience with complex, electrical assembly projects, piping and general fabrication; as well as the ability to lead our Assembly team.

        Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
        • Perform medium to complex heavy assembly tasks, and lead the assembly team to accomplish these tasks
        • Confer with Production, Project Management and Engineering to solve manufacturing problems and improve processes
        • Plans and performs jobs of installing a variety of electrical equipment such as control panels, switchboards, junction boxes, switches, etc.
        • Connects and disconnects electric powered machines, repairs motors, replaces fuses and sets of circuit breakers on high and low tension circuits
        • Diagnoses electrical trouble, uses hand and power tools, works from wiring diagram
        • Move materials with 40 Ton Overhead Crane and Forklifts, and assist team with proper rigging and operation practices
        • Maintains a safe work environment that motivates workers to achieve company goals
        • Works closely with other floor Team Leaders and Team Leads to efficiently coordinate interdepartmental activities
        • Reports machinery problems in a timely manner to the Maintenance Department
        • Ensures machinery is both used and maintained in a safe manner per governmental regulations and Springs Fabrication policies
        • Responsible at times for plant start-up, shutdown and security
