SUMMARY:

Sets-up and operates CNC and manual machinery in accordance to Safety Practices, Operational Manuals and direct input from his/her Team Lead. Runs simple to complex programs on CNC machines and observes the operation of the equipment to ensure the accuracy of the part to the Customer’s drawing. Manually checks machine function by using measuring devices to ensure work output is within acceptable limits. Brings technical issues to the attention of his/her Team Lead.

Requirements include:

  • Experience with manual machines, CNC machines, conversational programming and CNC coding
  • Must have a positive attitude, be a team player and be project oriented
  • Must be self-sufficient and be a leader/mentor to others

THESE QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES MUST HAVE THE BASIC FUNDAMENTAL KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS ASSOCIATED WITH MACHINING AND POSSES THE ABILITY TO GENERATE, READ AND INTERPRET DRAWINGS.

  • Good knowledge of the process of machining.
  • Prior work history or knowledge of machining and programming.
  • Able to read and understand complex machining blueprints.
  • Able to write simple machining programs on several different controllers.
  • Sets-up and runs machining operations on the Haas Lathe, Feeler, G&L, Femco, Haas Vertical Mills and Femco HBC.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls and offsets
  • Inspects parts during run and after completion to ensure parts are accurate.
  • Processes all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe working area.

SUMMARY:

Welds and fabricates a variety of engineered metal products, ranging from structural to piping to vessel work.

Must meet the following requirements:

  • Capable of 6G certification in GMAW/FCAW and GTAW processes
  • Capable of reading complex drawings, including weld symbols
  • 5 or more years of welding and fabrication experience
  • Experience demonstrating X-Ray quality welds and capable of fitting up complex
  • weldments with consideration for tolerance, shrinkage, and heat induced warpage

SUMMARY

Generates quotations based on estimates of labor, materials, special processes, and documentation requirements for a varying range of complex technical opportunities by reviewing the scope of work, codes, specifications, drawings, and other relevant requirements. Communicates with customers, internal resources, vendors, and subcontractors to research, determine and estimate the cost to manufacture the opportunity within the defined parameters and prescribed time frames. Achieves defined order booking goals through converting offered quotations into purchase orders.


 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages customer expectations through communication of capabilities, capacities, lead times and follow up on offered quotations.
  • Reviews and comprehends scope of work (SOW), customer requirements, specifications, codes and standards, customer terms and conditions to identify required resources to satisfy the project requirements.
  • Distills SOW data to prepare and estimate preliminary manufacturing routings consisting of labor operations, material requirements, subcontracted services and all other cost associated with the SOW.
  • Identifies and accounts for poorly defined requirements and high-risk activities and processes.
  • Communicates with customer to obtain clarification of all missing or unclear requirements.
  • Acquires and applies costs of materials and subcontracted operations through direct contact with vendors or communicating pricing support needs to internal resources.
  • Confers with internal supporting resources (manufacturing, procurement, scheduling, quality control programming and engineering) to determine and review the project requirements.
  • Generates detailed estimates of cost for the labor, materials, special processes, testing, inspection, and documentation requirements needed to perform the SOW.
  • Prepares detailed quotation documentation for submittal to the customer. Describes in detail the inclusions, substitutions, and exclusions of the offer.
  • Prepares and submits the requisite documentation, responses and proposals prescribed in the quotation submittal requirements.
  • Performs follow up activities to gain status of offered quotations to determine probability of converting the quote into a purchase order.
  • Reviews awarded purchase orders against quotations to verify that offered schedule commitments, funding parameters, scope of work and exceptions taken match.
  • Communicates with assigned Project Manager and participates in project kick-off meetings to communicate quoted SOW, initial planning and all other pertinent data of the project previously determined.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Individual shall have some knowledge of metal manufacturing methods including but not limited to raw material processing, welding, machining, finishing and assembly processes.

Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university or 1 to 3 years of metal manufacturing experience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Degree from two-year or four-year college or technical school preferred. Minimum of 15 years direct welding and fabrication industry experience. The individual must have strong leadership skills with a minimum of 10 years of supervisory experience in heavy welding and fabrication.  

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Experience hiring, training, growing, team building and leading a minimum of 30 employees in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform employee performance reviews, establish training and growth plans for individuals.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project schedules, assign resources, track and maintain.
  • Strong critical thinking, planning and communication skills.
  • Design / set up work cells and understanding of fixtures and tooling used in complex fabrication.

Electrical Designer / Assembler - Colorado Springs, CO

SUMMARY:

Assist and/or perform electrical design and physical assembly activities related to custom design-build or build-to-print equipment projects. Analyze and interpret complex customer specifications and support or develop the required technical calculations and documentation while conforming to the company’s quality systems as documented. On projects, may assume the electrical project engineering role related to planning, directing, and testing products and projects. Work is performed within a broad framework of general policies and requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives and to apply concepts, plans and strategies that may deviate from traditional methods and practices. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates or interprets specifications, data sheets, P&ID’s and schematics for both build to print and design-build custom equipment.
  • Works with project teams and customers to ensure the products conform to customer requirements and meet the customer’s needs.
  • Develops the required drawings, procedures, and Bills of Materials for electrical component procurement and electrical assembly into custom equipment.
  • Assembles wiring and electrical components.
  • Keeps abreast of current design practices and procedures.
  • Produces detailed technical submittal documents in support of assigned projects.
  • Participates in technical reviews and project status meetings.
  • Plans electrical design activities related to a job, including setting schedule milestones, review points, and deadlines.
  • Develops and writes project-related conformance documentation – testing, manuals, plans, etc.
  • Performs factory and site acceptance testing, including traveling to customer facilities.
  • Assists and writes deviation requests and non-conformance reports.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Technical Associates Degree (A.S.) from an ABET accredited institution (3+ yrs experience).
  • Or Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution (2+ yrs experience).
  • Well-rounded background in core electrical engineering concepts, including working knowledge of NEC.
  • Manufacturing background desired.
  • Mechanical design experience is a plus.

 

SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Possess the ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and process and instrumentation diagrams. Has working knowledge of diversified, fundamental scientific electrical design components, connections, and installation. One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with standard desktop software in addition to AutoCad or other 2D drafting software with the ability to use or learn 3D software (Solidworks). Basic PLC programming experience, understanding the concepts at a minimum.

  • Journeyman electrician license or similar preferred.
